#48 - Designing for trust with Sarah Drummond

Leading up to her captivating talk about ‘Trust Falls: catching users when they fall’ at Knight Moves’ Arena last month, we welcomed design strategist Sarah Drummond in our studio in Ghent. Sarah co-founded the award winning service design studio Snook and led the company as CEO for over 12 years.

Currently, she is running the School of Good Services as director together with her partner Lou Downe, author of the book Good Services: the bestselling book about how to design services that work.

During our conversation we talk about various topics concerning trust such as building trust in the design process, innovation and new technologies vs. familiar actions, predictability and how to be aware of possible consequences of (bad) design decisions. We also share some personal stories of why trust is a topic close to our hearts.

Check out Sarah’s work on:

  • Her website, a collection of professional and personal blogs including her vision on Full Stack Service Design, possible future scenario’s and life updates.

  • The School of Good Services, where she manages and curates public & private trainings together with her partner Lou Downe.

  • Don’t Say Gay, the first feature-length film about the 1988 legislation implemented by the Conservative Government banning the 'promotion of homosexuality’ and also an important personal project.
