#67 - Going punk on human-centred design with Gerry Scullion
In this episode, we sit down with Gerry Scullion: service designer, educator, podcaster and founder of the Human-Centered Design Network, to talk about what it really means to practice human-centered design in today's world.
Gerry is writing a book. Not just another HCD handbook, but a manifesto. And as a true service designer it is packed with inspiration from around the world. Inspired by punk rock, he argues that design is entering a new era.
We explore his ten principles of human-centred design, from growing through discomfort to building trust and transparency. Because if there's one thing Gerry keeps coming back to, it's this: discomfort isn't a sign you're doing it wrong. It might be a sign you're finally doing it right.
And ofcourse there was also some talk about AI, Gerry's message is clear: don't put the technology at the center, put the human back where it belongs. We couldn’t agree more!
